Join us for the Cape and Islands United Way "Best Night of the Year," a casually elegant evening featuring the best food and beverages, the best auction and the best fireworks, all for the best cause...the Cape and Islands United Way.
We are pleased to have Chris Herren as our keynote speaker. Chris is a former NBA player whose struggle with drug addiction is featured in his book "Basketball Junkie" and in ESPN's award-winning documentary, "Unguarded;" an honest and sobering depiction of a life nearly destroyed by addiction. Through the help of Gosnold on Cape Cod, Chris is in recovery and working to help others by sharing his personal story.
6-9 p.m. Sunday, June 24th
Willowbend Country Club - Mashpee, Cape Cod

A note from a visitor to Cape Cod...
My name is Tony Mascaro and I am a fellow United Way colleague. I am also a subscriber to Cape Cod Life and saw the wonderful announcement/article on your upcoming event. While I will be vacationing down on the Cape later this month, my time there will not coincide with your event. Therefore, (I have made a) contribution to the Cape & Islands United Way towards the price of a ticket, knowing that all proceeds do make a difference to those in need on the Cape and Islands. It is too easy for society to look at resort communities and see the perfection that attracts us to be visitors. However, a different lens actually sees that there are too many who do not benefit from these sights and sounds, let alone, even the basics of life that many take for granted. Your (Cape & Islands) United Way uses that lens to seek out and attempt to provide positive, lasting change in someone’s life.
