Director of Human Services for Barnstable County
Elizabeth Albert, M.S. W. is the Director of Human Services for Barnstable County. Beth provides leadership on regional initiatives including the Barnstable County Health and Human Service Advisory Council and the Regional Network to Address Homelessness. In January 2015 she organized the Barnstable County Regional Substance Abuse Council. She is responsible for several large multi-year grants including the Prevention Wellness Trust Fund, Substance Abuse Prevention, and grants from the Executive Office of Elder Affairs. Beth is currently enrolled in Suffolk University’s Government Leadership Certificate Program.
Prior to coming to Cape Cod, Ms. Albert resided in Philadelphia for 20 years where she was the executive director of a civil rights organization, the Fair Housing Rights Center of Southeastern Pennsylvania. In this capacity Beth worked on hundreds of fair housing cases, specializing in obtaining reasonable accommodations and modifications for people with disabilities. She has extensive experience in advocacy, program development, and is a successful grant writer.
