Dr. Maureen O’Shea
Director of Institutional Research and Planning
Cape Cod Community College
Maureen O’Shea is a developmental psychologist with extensive experience in teaching, applied research and strategic planning. She relocated to Cape Cod in March 2013 to accept an appointment at Cape Cod Community College as the Director of Institutional Research and Planning. A Connecticut native, returning to New England brings Maureen closer to her extended family and two children working in Boston.
Maureen holds a BA in Psychology from Princeton University and earned her Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. In addition to college faculty positions, Maureen served as the research and planning director for two “umbrella” non-profit organizations committed to public health and social services in Newark, NJ. In 2010, Maureen transferred her skills to a new role in institutional effectiveness at Delaware County Community College in Media, PA.
Maureen’s most significant volunteer work includes founding and leading a Pennsylvania chapter of the national organization Wild Ones, dedicated to native plants and sustainable landscaping. On Cape, Maureen volunteers for Horizons for Homeless Children, serves as a board member of Association to Preserve Cape Cod and on the Community Impact Council of United Way. She is an avid gardener, music and nature lover and is looking forward to exploring the Cape and becoming more connected with her new community.
