Shawn DeLude
Founder, Nauset Disposal

Ex-officio board member, Cape and Islands United Way

Shawn DeLude was raised in Orleans and attended Cape Cod Community College. With 28 years of experience in the waste and recycling industry, he has had the fortune of working in both the local and corporate environments in various roles. In 1999, Shawn founded Nauset Disposal with little more than a pickup truck and a pair of work gloves. His knowledge of the industry, belief in exceptional customer service and commitment to the local environment has proven successful; since its inception, Nauset Disposal has grown to become the largest independent hauling fleet on Cape Cod, claiming nearly 50% of the market.

In 2006, Shawn founded WeSupportLocalBusiness.com, an organization dedicated to bringing together local businesses and consumers. In addition to his duties as president of Nauset Disposal, he currently sits on the Board of the Cape & Islands United Way (Past Chair and Founder), the Board of Directors for the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce, the Center for Coastal Studies Provincetown, Big Brothers Big Sisters “Big 3” Fishing Tournament, as well as the Oceanside Performing Arts Center. Shawn has received recognitions such as the Massachusetts SBA “Rising Star Award”, the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce’s “Jack Gay Ambassador Award”, the CLI “Leadership Award”, the American Red Cross “Community Service Hero Award”, the National Guard’s “Patriotic Employer Award”, amongst many others. A major advocate for the Cape Cod community, Shawn supports over 120 programs and organizations on Cape Cod, such as the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod, Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Cape Cod, Cape Cod Young Professionals, Cape and Islands United Way, WeCan, Habitat For Humanity, Seaside LeMans, and the Cape Cod YMCA.

Nauset Disposal’s Mission Statement of “Commitment to superior service and customer satisfaction while conducting business with the respect to our community and environment” remains Shawn’s personal – and professional – commitment to Cape Cod.

Shawn still resides in Orleans and has been a Licensed Coast Guard Captain for over 22 years. His passion is Sport Fishing and spending time with his dog, Jax.
