Uniting, Inspiring, and Engaging Women

to become agents of community change through philanthropy, leadership and volunteerism. Women United is a community of women giving a minimum of $240 annually to the Cape and Islands United Way. Members fundraise, leverage resources, volunteer and advocate in support of priority areas.

We Are Women Who:

Ourkids-books1 Activities:

  • We support strategic initiatives and programs to
    ensure that children from birth to age three are provided
    with a strong start to life.
  • We organize fundraising events and drives to provide
    resources for our initiatives.
  • We participate in hands-on volunteer opportunities.
  • We promote an advocacy agenda to address the gaps
    in resources and support a high quality, affordable child
    care system.

Our Current Priority:

Strengthening families to reduce the Achievement Gap and ensur
e that children are provided with the social, emotional, and language skills to thrive.

Advisors:

Our programs and initiatives are guided by our Strong From the Start Advisory Group. This group of experts, convened by the Cape and Islands United Way, has come together to evaluate current community challenges, and recommend strategies.

The group includes representatives from:
• A Baby Center
• Cape Cod Children’s Place
• Cape Cod Hospital
• Cape Cod Child Development
• Cape Cod Family Resource Center
• Cape and Islands United Way
• Coalition for Children
• Harwich Early Childhood Council
• Women Infants and Children Program (WIC)
